NOVAAR Meeting (In person)

Tuesday, July 1 at 7 PM at the University Mall Community Space in Fairfax. Hidden away in Maine since 1978 is a treasure trove of model rocket catalogs and the fruits from scale data requests. Rarest of them all is the first catalog issued by Estes Industries, Inc. after its move to Penrose, CO. Rocket Supplies Catalog No. 261 predates the first catalog listed in the Estes catalog archive. At the meeting we will show off similar finds from Rocket Development Corporation, Prodyne, Central Rocket Company, Coaster Corporation, Flight Systems Inc., Vashon Industries, and of course, Centuri Engineering Company. Plus, lots of kit instructions and scale data. This cache has not seen the light of day in decades, until now. University Mall is at the corner of Braddock and Ox Road (Hwy 123) across from the main entrance to George Mason University. The Community Space is on the back side of the mall, at the end – below and behind Giant supermarket, sandwiched between McAlister’s Deli and the Virginia ABC store.
